The number of misfits here at the CORPORATE C|Y|G HEADQUARTERS are numberous! 

With this in mind, "THE CAPTAIN" thought it necessary to discuss some of the words and terminology we use so we all have a better understanding of where we come from in our daily bogs and discussions! 

Before we begin our journey on words and terminology, we always like to explain the C|Y|G's use of capital letters and the famous C|Y|G "Exclamation Point!"

CAPITAL LETTERS

IT'S IMPORTANT and WE WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT POINT!!

The C|Y|G Team is made up of some of the strongest willed men and women found on this earth! We have opinions and we want to be heard!

AND..........if you have not been introduced to "THE CAPTAIN", "THE CAPTAIN" is an INTERNATIONAL OBNOXIOUS ICON and his expressed words are demanded to be heard!! He is loud and charasmatic and are BLOGGING STYLE reflects that!!

TAKE NO OFFENSE!! WE HAVE ABSOLUTLELY NO PLANS ON CHANGING!!

EXCLAMATION POINT!

BOOTS AND JEANS? SHORTS AND SANDLES?

LET'S TALK C|Y|G WORDS AND TERMINOLOGY

CHICAGO:

"THE CAPTAIN!" has sailed many open oceans and seas, but has called Chicago home since childhood. "THE CAPTAIN!" established Chicago as the home base for the COMPANY with his absolute adoration for this iconic city! "THE CAPTAIN!" was also fortunate enough to have found most of the members of the entire C|Y|G team in or near the "GREATEST SUMMER CITY IN THE WORLD".  Midwestern work ethic wins every day! Chicago is surrounded by the awesome waters of Lake Michigan and provide some of the most outstanding marinas in the area. Chicago will be used as our home base, but the team plans on exploring the entire region from Wisconsic to Illinois and Indiana to Upper Michigan!

YACHT GURU:

The Global Navigators from around the World that read and comment on our articles and posts are the REAL GURU'S!!

The C|Y|G Team considered many other branding options. Some were taken. Others just didn't work! 

At the end of the day, we just liked the name! With Chicago as the foundation, can you have a better name? We considered branding the company from a regional perspective but that became nearly impossible. The C|Y|G home base is Chicago! But we plan on writing blogs about covering the entire region around Chicago; Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan!

BLANK CANVAS:

NO RULES! 

"THE CAPTAIN" listens to NO ONE!! He has hand-picked the C|Y|G Team because we know how to NEGOTIATE with "THE CAPTAIN". When we meet in the bunker for our morning work sessions, "THE CAPTAIN" dictates the day's direction. THUS!!!! We have a "BLANK CANVAS" starting each and every morning and we all absolutely LOVE IT that way!  

THE CAPTAIN:

THE INTERNATIONAL ACCLAIMED OBNOXIOUS LOUD CHARISTMATIC LEADER OF THE C|Y|G TEAM!!

CAPTAIN(S):

The hard-working men and women that keep our crews and passengers safe each and every day! PLUS - they add a little joy to our lives along the way! Every CAPTAIN we have ever met tells the best stories!! THE ABSOLUTE BEST STORIES!!

NAVIGATOR:

Those of us that just absolutely love being on the water! Captain or otherwise! If you're reading this blog, chances are you can be defined as a NAVIGATOR!! 

If you don't even own a  boat, but love to cruise on big ships, you're a NAVIGATOR!!

Take advantage of your friends that OWN BOATS? You're a NAVIGATOR!!

Work as CREW on any size ship, you're considered a NAVIGATOR!!

GLOBAL NAVIGATOR:

All the above, but spends more time on international waters than in their home ports!!

ANCHOR:

Global Navigators ANCHORED in their favorite, hidden, and mostly private "COVE"  - spending countless hours in total ZEN!!

What's the OLDE SAYING? WHAT HAPPENS IN THE "COVE" STAYS IN THE "COVE"????

DOCKSIDE:

The C|Y|G TEAM avoids using this term at ALL COSTS! Is it a negative connotation? For the most part we do!  Otherwise, unless your vessel is docked because your party has reached beyound the vessels capacity, or you are preparing for launch, being dockside means any of the following which are considered negative:  your not on the boat, your afraid to navigate the waters, your tank is empty and you don't have the funds until next week to fill up, or you're just spending to much time at work to pay for the boat! 

See our point? Use the term sparingly!! Don't make us SAD!!

MARINA:

Marina's are our friends! We can get supplies! Dump waste!! (which is important!) Refuel!! (which is important!!) Check out the local establishments! Have a great meal! Unload the UNRULY passengers!! Spend the night hopping from one marina to another!! 

But most importantly, it's always a GREAT TIME TO MEET NEW PEOPLE!!

WATERWAYS:

BATHTUBS ASIDE!! We consider all waterways important! Ponds! Rivers! Streams! Inland lakes! Great lakes! Seas! Canals! And OCEANS!!

FROM THE HELM:

YES!!!! There is a difference between between "AT THE HELM" and "FROM THE HELM"

Please pay close attention to these two defintions!!

"FROM THE HELM" is when "THE CAPTAIN" is in full dress uniform, the ship is prepared to leave port, the engines are purring, the crew has been given their orders, gear has been stored, passengers have been "MUSTARDED" and provided safety instructions and more, and the new journey has been programmed into the vessels NAVIGATION equipment. TIME TO SOUND THE HORN!!

AT THE HELM:

YES!!!! There is a difference between between "AT THE HELM" and "FROM THE HELM"

Please pay close attention to these two defintions!!

"AT THE HELM" is the complete opposite of "FROM THE HELM"! 

The engines are off other than the generators to power the ship's systems. THE CAPTAIN is in his favorite shorts and t-shirt! THE CAPTAIN brings the seriousness level down to the point of TELLING STORIES to both the crew and passengers! The crew has been given casual orders. The passengers are milling about their business with appetizers and fun drinks! "FROM THE HELM" usually means the vessel is anchored at a favorite PORT OF CALL! 

CAPTAIN'S CALL:

"THE CAPTAIN" ALWAYS has the first and last word! It's that simple!! This is not about if you can make the exhaust systems loud or quiet!! This is about respecting "THE CAPTAIN'S" CALL!

Your safety and life depend on "THE CAPTAIN'S CALL"!!

PURSUE OPEN WATERS:

"YES!!!! This is the corporate C|Y|G Tagline!

As GLOBAL NAVIGATORS our mission is simple: Keep adding un-explored waters to your bucket list! Never stop looking for that new ADVENTURE! 

OPEN WATERS:

Your "PURSUIT OF OPEN WATERS" has taken you to "YOUR CURRENT JOURNEY"!

Current journeys are always our favorite! Means your not DOCKSIDE!! And remember, we don't like being DOCKSIDE!

MAKE WAVES:

Ships like to leave waves! The more waves you make the more exploring you have done!

SO................KEEP MAKING WAVES!!!

SOUND THE HORN:

THIS IS A GREAT THING!!

We probably will need to eventually add more defintions to this list, but what has been presented is a comprehensive explanation of the most used WORDS and PHRASES the C|YG| TEAM uses on a daily basis.
