Future Home Vision

Provide facilities and other resources necessary to evangelize and grow a community of Orthodox Christian believers in Southern Colorado; committed to spiritual formation, interpersonal relationships, missions, and outreach to our neighbors in service to the poor, the sick and suffering and those in prison.

Upcoming Capital Campaign Events

A wonderful opportunity has been offered to our community. A faithful family has offered to match dollar for dollar up to $25,000, all new donations given toward our Capital Campaign Fund. This is in addition to previous pledges you have made. That means we have the potential of raising $50,000!
 
The challenge is to have raised the matching funds by Pascha, so we only have until April 8th to meet this goal!

Background Information

Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church is at a crossroads in its history where a small congregation must make a monumental leap of faith to purchase real estate where the essence of Orthodox Christianity can foster, grow and spread for generations. 

We are currently in the third year of a capital campaign designed to raise the funding required to achieve our goals. A brief history of the campaign follows:

On September 12, 2015, we kicked off our capital campaign with a beautiful event at the Antler's Hilton in Colorado Springs. Sixty people were in attendance. We had moving presentations and video as well as a beautiful finale by Met. Isaiah challenging us to continue in this effort. The evening ended with the collection of 24 pledges. God bless you!

In November of 2016, we sought out the guidance of Jerry Minetos from the Archidiocese Parish Development Office. We received 3 anonymous donations to fund his travel expenses. Mr, Minetos visited our parish three times between December 2016 and February 2016 & conducted confidential, in-person interviews with our parishers in order to better understand the desires of our Parish family.  From these interviews it was determined that:

  •       89% of our parishoners are in favor of continued efforts to identify and investigate buying and building opportunities and report back to a future general assembly;
  •       Our existing pledges coupled with potential pledges, bequests, and other parish assets bring us within the scope of reaching our financial goal of $1MM provided parishioners are presented with further detail that will result from our ongoing investigations.
  •       Many blessings and strengths of our community were identified, as well as some weaknesses which we will be looking to address as our efforts move forward.
  •       All in all, the study revealed that with your continued love and involvement, we will begin to experience the next wonderful steps in the growth of our parish, something that will impact each of us, our spouses, children, grandchildren and future Orthodox Christians in the Colorado Springs community at large.

In December of 2017, Mr Minetos again came to our parish to speak confidentailly to the members of our parish who had expressed a willingness to contribute to the capital campaign.  The purpose of this visit was to update potential donors on the progress the capital campaign committee has made in the past year and evaluate each member's willingness to commit to fixed contributions in the amount of their choosing over a 3 year period. The theme of our campaign is "Offering From Our Abundance For The Glory of God"; it is with this in mind that parishoners are asked to give.
