Dr. Matei has been a physician for 30 years specializing in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology. While caring for her patients she noticed the significant emotional and physical impact of how illness affected her patients. She decided to bring a positive outlook into their life and restore the youthfulness of their appearance.
The medical esthetics field was the next step in achieving this goal and she became certified in medical esthetic procedures (Neurotoxins, Dermal fillers injections, Microneedling and laser) in 2008. In 2009 she opened Jeunesse Salon and Spa Suites and her medical esthetics practice Beauty Design, LLC.

Dr. Matei received her Medical Degree in Bucharest Romania and taught at the medical school there. After moving to the United States she completed the residency and fellowship at the University of Texas/MD Anderson Cancer Center.

BOTOX
BOTOX® is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
BOTOX® is a drug made from a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum called botulinum toxin. It is used medically to treat certain muscular conditions and cosmetically remove wrinkles by temporarily paralyzing muscles. The effects from BOTOX® will last three to six months. MICRO-NEEDLING
What is Medical Micro-Needling?
For skin micro-needling, we use an electric skin needling device made especially for this purpose. The device is a pen shaped studded with 12 very fine needles. It is a medical device used in micro needling to break down old scar tissue and to stimulate skin cells to proliferate. This cell multiplication results in the formation of new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers as well as in new capillaries for an improved blood supply.

ECLIPSE MICROPEN® ELITE
– Reduction in the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, improved skin tone and texture and softer, younger-looking skin with fewer signs of aging. MicroPen® Elite can help improve the appearance of hyper-pigmentation as well as uneven skin tone, acne scars, traumatic scars and stretch marks.
MicroPen® Elite can be used on all parts of the body, including the: face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, legs, abdomen and back.
How is the procedure done?
A sterile tip containing 12 tiny micro-tips is attached to the Eclipse MicroPen® Elite. Your skincare professional will apply sterile saline and select the appropriate treatment pen settings based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the pen will be gently pressed against the skin while simultaneously gliding in one direction until the entire treatment area has been covered. The feeling associated with the Eclipse MicroPen® Elite is similar to sandpaper being moved across the skin. While some areas are more sensitive than others, the speed of the reciprocating cartridge tip makes the treatment more comfortable
How long does the procedure take?
The procedure takes 15-30 minutes depending on the size of the area treated.
What is the downtime?
Immediately after the treatment, you will notice a bright redness to the skin. The total recovery time depends on the position of the pen and the number of overlapping passes your skincare professional performs. On average, patients are red for 2-4 days. Some patients heal completely in 24 hours. Patients notice an immediate "glow" to their skin. Visible changes to the skin develop over the course of several weeks. Results can continue to improve up to 6 months after the treatment.
