If you’ve ever done any research on travel, or more specifically how to save money while traveling, chances are that you’ve probably heard of a “Travel Club”. A travel club is when business owners and corporations, with experience in both customer service and the travel industry, come together and create wholesale travel packages. And that is exactly what we have done for you! Here at Points Travel Club we have invested countless hours of our time, effort and energy into creating the most affordable travel packages so that you won’t have to!
One of the first things someone does when they start to plan their vacation is choose where they are going to stay, and there are now many different ways to tackle lodging for families who don’t want to break the bank. Most people do so by going online reading reviews on different hotels, and then comparing prices from an unlimited number of different websites. And just when you think you’ve finally found the best deal out there;you get slapped with an outrageous “booking fee”. This can make your cost even higher than if you had just called and booked the hotel outright, making all of those hours of research go down the drain.
Fortunately, a more intriguing option for booking accommodations has emerged: renting timeshare points! By renting points from Points Travel Club you can now book beautiful resorts with amazing amenities for less money out of your pocket!
If you are reading this, chances are you are probably already somewhat familiar with “timeshare”. You’ve probably even noticed the many kiosks sprinkled throughout the resorts or malls on your last vacation, trying to get you to sign up to go on a timeshare presentation. And while going all-in to own a timeshare may work for some people, it isn’t necessarily for everyone. We understand that having to fork over a bunch of money to buy a timeshare is a big commitment, so don’t worry, that’s not what we’re recommending.
If you want to enjoy all of the perks of owning a timeshare but feel that the commitment of timeshare ownership isn’t for you, you’re in luck! You now have the option to RENT points from an existing timeshare owner! Timeshare owners have an allotment of points that they receive on a yearly basis that can be used for travel. Some owners find that some years they don’t use all of their points, so they look to rent them out to other vacationers. Their loss is now your gain.
To give you a visual… Renting timeshare points is like eating a perfectly cooked, mouthwatering filet mignon, when all you paid for is a steak sandwich. You can generally rent timeshare points to stay in a deluxe resort for roughly the same price as booking a moderate hotel room. Timeshare rooms are usually referred to as villas, because you’ll have more amenities such as multiple bedrooms, a full kitchen, pool, gym, and even a washer/dryer. Once you experience first-hand the perks of staying in a timeshare rental, it quickly becomes apparent how much more enjoyable and affordable your vacations can now be.
Vacation clubs give families traveling on a budget a way to access all of the great and newer variations of the timeshare models. Instead of purchasing the rights to a specific unit, like with a timeshare, vacation club “members” pay an upfront sum to purchase a specific number of “points” which can be redeemed for a variety of vacations each year. Yearly maintenance fees still apply.
The only potential downside to a timeshare rental is that you won’t get daily housekeeping service on stays of seven days or less. You do, however, have the option to pay extra for daily housekeeping visits if it is something that is that important to you. The front desk will also provide towels and linens if you call to let them know that you are in need of more. Timeshares also provide daily trash service.
If you’re wondering how much you can save renting timeshare points, we crunched the numbers for a seven-night stay (Fri - Fri) in March 2019. We compared rooms at three great resorts during the busiest time of the year SPRING BREAK : Waikiki, Orlando and St. Thomas. As you can see, the savings are substantial, and the savings only increase with a longer stay.
3/15 - 3/22/19 Waikiki Orlando St. Thomas
Hotel room $3500 $2800 $2800
Owner 2 Bedroom villa $800 $600 $700
Renter 2 Bedroom $4900 $3500 $4200
Club Member 2 Bedroom $299 $299 $299
Now that you’ve seen how significant the savings can be you are probably wondering what your options are for how to go about renting timeshare points. As of right now you have two options: rent through a company or rent from an owner. You can rent points from a professional service such as www.ShortStayResorts.com. By choosing to rent through a company you will pay a premium, but it will still cost much less in the long run than if you tried to rent a villa directly from the timeshare.
You can also choose to rent directly from an owner. One of the benefits of choosing to rent from an owner is that the prices an individual owner will charge are generally less than that of a company like Short Stay Resorts. For units with multiple bedrooms, this can add up to be hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars in savings. Now you might be wondering why someone would choose to rent from a professional service like Short Stay Resorts when they can save money by going directly through a timeshare owner. Well, like most things in life, you get what you pay for. While it is true that you could be saving more money by choosing to deal directly with a timeshare owner, the trade-off is that there are risks, and potentially extra hassles, renting directly from an owner versus paying for a professional service. You’re dealing with an individual who has control of your reservation, so unfortunately, they can make changes to it without your permission. Or worse yet, they can completely cancel it. So be sure to do your research before choosing to rent from a timeshare owner. Or better yet, contact us and have peace of mind knowing that your hard-earned vacations dollars will be going towards ensuring that you will stay in the nicest accommodations possible on your next vacation. After all, you and your family deserve it.
