OSTEOPATHIC BOARD CERTIFICATION
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (FAOCPMR).
Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (FAOCPMR)
To qualify for this award, applicants must be nominated by other Fellows or Distinguished Fellows. The criteria for awarding the title Fellow of the American Osteopathic College of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are as follows:
Current certification in physical medicine and rehabilitation by the American Osteopathic Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AOBPMR) or American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (ABPMR).
Continuous membership in AOPCMR for 5 years prior to nomination. Resident membership is included in this 5 year period.
Documented attendance at 2 AOPCMR Mid Year Meetings and Scientific Seminars in the 5 year period prior to application. Only the member's signature on the attendance sheet for the membership meeting will be accepted as proof of meeting attendance.
Publication of scientific articles or reference materials in the field of physical medicine and rehabilitation, in nationally peer-review periodicals with references to the publication in which the article was published.
Past or present membership on the AOPCMR Executive Council.
Past or present membership on an AOPCMR Committee.
Faculty appointment in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at an accredited College of Osteopathic Medicine or College of Medicine accredited by the AOA or AMA, respectively.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program Director or faculty member.
Advanced academic degree or fellowship training.
Having made a significant contribution to the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in the osteopathic profession.
Involved in the active practice of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and/or one of its subspecialties.
Involved on committees, boards or activities of either AOCPMR, AOBPMR or AOA.
Prior or current involvement in professional organizations on an international, national, state or local level that concern Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Involved in significant ongoing research contributions to the specialty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation or any subspecialty areas of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation
Involved in the development of a clinical training program as the program director, (initial or continuing position)
Service to the profession that has achieved national, state, or regional recognition and Recognition or awards for excellence in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (or its subspecialty areas) from local, state and national organizations
Service to the profession that has achieved national, state, or regional recognition and Recognition or awards for excellence in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (or its subspecialty areas) from local, state and national organizations
Involved in the development of a clinical training program as the program director, (initial or continuing position)
